The Treasurer's Office is open by appointment only for driver's license and motor vehicle transfers. Please call our office to make the appointment. All motor vehicle renewals and property taxes are to be done by mail, drop box located at the west entrance of the courthouse, drop box at the south side of the courthouse available 24 hours a day or online. Please work with us to keep the public and our staff healthy and safe so we may continue to be at your service.

If you have a special circumstance please contact us ahead of time so we can decide how will be the best way to handle it. Pay Property Taxes Pay Motor Vehicle Renewals
Accepted On-Line Payment Methods-eCheck, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted for Internet transactions.
Property Taxes:
Property taxes maybe paid online. Current year taxes and delinquent taxes not covered by a tax sale certificate are available for payment online. Tax Sale Certificates can now be paid online. IOWA LAW DOES NOT ALLOW PARTIAL PAYMENTS TO BE MADE ON TAX SALES! SCHEDULED PAYMENTS WILL NOT APPLY TO TAX SALES!
To search for parcel numbers by name, enter the last name first followed by comma, a space, and then all or part of the first name. For example, to search for all parcels owned by John Smith, enter Smith, John. If unable to bring up type in the last name only.
If paying by e-check you will be asked to enter your six-digit Tax Receipt number. Your Tax Receipt number is located in the bottom lefter corner of each payment stub on your tax statement. Please enter only the six digit receipt number, do not include the tax year.
Motor Vehicle:
Motor vehicle renewals maybe done online. You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice that contains a PIN number.
Your vehicle does not qualify for online renewal if the vehicle registration requires proof of insurance or if any state debts are owed. Half year license and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal at this time. ( This is an enhancement that will be available in the future!!)
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2020 WE WILL REQUIRE CUSTOMERS TO PROVIDE A BILL OF SALE WHEN TRANSFERRING TITLES TO MOTOR VEHICLES BETWEEN PRIVATE PARTIES. A PURCHASE AGREEMENT OR BILL OF SALE WILL BE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP. BillOfSale 2019
Drivers License:
You may renew your drivers license in our office Monday through Friday. Renewal maybe done 30 days before your birthday and up to 60 days after your birthday. We encourage everyone to renew your driver's license in our office as to assist in keeping this service in our office.
Veterans Designation
Iowa veterans can now add a Veteran designation to their drivers license or non-operator id card is being renewed, or, if you are being issued for the first time. (For example, if you are moving in from out of state.) A link to the required form can be found by clicking here. Your County's Veterans Affairs office will need to complete part of that form before the designation can be added to your drivers license or identification card or your DD214 can be provided.
