The 2024 Wayne County Tax Sale was held Monday, June 17th, 2024. Adjourned Tax Sales are held any business day following the annual Tax Sale in which there are bidders present and there are parcels available for sale. Please click on the following link for additional information:
General Information:
PROPERTY TAXES
IOWA LAW DOES NOT ALLOW PARTIAL PAYMENTS TO BE MADE ON TAX SALES!
SCHEDULED PAYMENTS WILL NOT APPLY TO TAX SALES!
TAX SALES CAN BE REDEEMED ONLINE WITH GUARANTEED FUNDS!
To search for parcel numbers by name, enter the last name first followed by comma, a space, and then all or part of the first name. For example, to search for all parcels owned by John Smith, enter Smith, John. If unable to bring up type in the last name only.
Scheduled and Recurring Property Tax Payments:
We are pleased to offer one-time scheduled tax payments and recurring monthly property tax payments through this website. Payments can be scheduled using either a credit card or e-Check.
Partial payments can also be made in office or by mail. You can pay in any increment. This applies only to current or upcoming year taxes. Partial payments cannot be made on tax sales.
MOTOR VEHICLE
Motor vehicle renewals may be done online. You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice that contains a PIN number.
Your vehicle does not qualify for online renewal if the vehicle registration requires proof of SR22 insurance or if any state debts are owed.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2020 WE WILL REQUIRE CUSTOMERS TO PROVIDE A BILL OF SALE WHEN TRANSFERRING TITLES TO MOTOR VEHICLES BETWEEN PRIVATE PARTIES. A PURCHASE AGREEMENT OR BILL OF SALE WILL BE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP. BillOfSale
Driver's License:
Service offered Monday - Friday by appointment from 8:00 - 3:30 pm. Renewal maybe done 30 days before your birthday and up to 60 days after your birthday. Full testing required after 1 year expired.
Beginning May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another TSA-acceptable form of identification (valid US Passport) at airport security checkpoints for domestic air travel.

CDL HOLDERS - Federal regulations require you to bring proof of citizenship or lawful presence to renew or upgrade your CDL.
Beginning May 26th, 2022, First time Iowa license or ID applicants (including minors), or existing customers adding the REAL ID gold star, will now be required to bring in two physical documents proving their residency, along with their other required documents.
*Iowa residents with an Iowa card that has a current address will need one additional proof of address, since their current Iowa card counts as the second proof.
Examples include but are not limited to: personal check, vehicle registration, tax statement or utility bills are accepted as long as the physical address is listed. PO BOX's are not acceptable.
*MINORS:
Acceptable proof of residency documents can include the parental consent form, but must also include another proof such as a parent driver’s license, a school ID, a report card, medical record or post marked mail. Again, PO BOX's are not acceptable.

A $30 returned payment fee will be assessed on any payments returned due to non-sufficient funds.
