2024 Tax Sale Information - The 2024 Story County Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17th, 2024.  The Sale will be conducted at the Story County Administration Building and bidders shall place their bids online.  Live bids will not be accepted.  Please Click on the following link for additional information:

General Information:

Online Payments 
Discover, Mastercard, Visa and e-Check are accepted for Internet Transactions. Service delivery fees of  2.25% for credit or $0.25 for eCheck will be applied to online payments. When paying property taxes by parcel number please enter the 10 digit parcel number which appears in the bottom right corner of either payment stub. A $20.00 returned check fee will be assessed on any payments returned due to insufficient funds. Beginning January 1, 2024 there will be a $30.00 return check fee assessed on any payments returned due to insufficient funds.

Vehicle Renewals
When renewing a vehicle registration online, a PIN is required to complete your transaction, which can be found on your renewal notice that was sent to you through the US Postal Service. If your renewal notice has a "stop" sign on it, the vehicle registration does not qualify for online renewal. Half year renewals and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal.

Homeowners Escrow - Property Tax
You can now set up "scheduled" or "recurring" payments. You will be able to choose the date that works best for you monthly; decide the amount to pay, or, let the program calculate the amount needed monthly; or, set up the payments to occur semi-annually when due. You can make changes at anytime and best of all - reminders will be emailed to you whenever a transaction takes place.

Your Receipt # is a six (6) digit code located on the upper right hand corner of your Property Tax Statement.

After searching your property, a copy of the current Tax Statement can be located under the section Tax History. On the right hand side click on the Tax Statement/Receipt from the desired year.
