7/3/2024 NO CAR DRIVES AT MILLS COUNTY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

**PLEASE NOTE** - Beginning July 1st, 2023 customers who do not reside in Mills County will be assessed a $10.00 convenience fee for driver's license services unless they pay property taxes in Mills County and provide proof of payment. Collection of the convenience fee is pursuant to Iowa Code 321M.9.

Mills County Treasurer's Office will be closed -Motor Vehicle, Taxes and Driver's License,all day November 11, November 28, November 29, December 24 and December 25.

Our office is open to the public. Driver's License closes from 11:30-12:30 for lunch and last issuance is at 3:55. We encourage vehicle renewals and property tax to continue to be paid online, mail, or drop box available outside on the southside of the building.

Did you know we will accept monthly payments for property tax payments? Taxes payable September 2024 and March 2025 are based on January 2023 assessment.  This assessment covers the July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 tax year.  Pay your current or delinquent taxes (excluding tax sale redemption) on line at www.iowatreasurers.org by e-check (25 cents), Discover, Visa or Mastercard (Credit card fee 2.25%). We accept credit and debit card payments in office (Credit Card 2.25% or debit card flat $2.00 fee) along with cash or check. Remember that our Tax Sale will be held the third Monday of June and any unpaid taxes will be published and sold at the sale.

Guaranteed funds (cash, cashier's check or money order) are required for Tax Sale Redemption.

A $30.00 fee will be assssed on any returned payments.

Title transfer requirements: Title, Bill of Sale (signature is required by both seller and buyer), Title Application (available under Motor Vehicle Forms signed by all parties to be on the title) and a valid IA Driver's License or IA Identification Card. Motor vehicle renewals/ registration can be processed the month before, the month of or the month after the expiration month. 

You can renew your drivers license here in the office, 30 days before or 60 days after your birthday

Real ID deadline has been extended to May 2025

Mills County Online Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 am Monday, 6/16/2025. Register online before 11:59 pm June 12, 2025  at www.iowataxauction.com  assistance with registration support@iowataxauction.com Bidders need not be present at the courthouse. All bids must be placed online, live bids will not be accepted.
