Motor Vehicle Information
Beginning January 1, 2022 in office title transfers will end at 4:00 p.m. daily
Beginning January 1, 2020 A BILL OF SALE IS REQUIRED ON ALL PRIVATE PARTY TRANSFERS
To renew your motor vehicle on line go to www.iowatreasurers.org you would need your PIN number on your renewal notice. We can assist you with that PIN if you don't have your notice however we need your plate number. Vehicle renewal does need to be done in the county you reside and may be done the month prior to, the month of and the month after your registration month.
Driver's License Information
To renew your Driver's License by appointment only at this time. We offer car drives (no CDL or motorcycle) by appointment only on Tuesdays only from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Driver's license may be renewed 30 days prior and no more than 60 days after expiration and can be renewed in any Iowa county that offers the service. A Real ID drivers license will be required by May 2023 (a gold star in the upper right hand corner of your license). To obtain a Real ID you are required to bring in ALL of the following documents: State Certified Birth Certificate (not the hospital one) or valid US passport, proof of name change from birth (marriage license/divorce decree/court order), your Social Security Card (or any document with full SSN number,) and two (2) proofs of your current IA address.
Credit and Debit cards are accepted in office for property tax, motor vehicle, and drivers license. Beginning January 2, 2020 debit card service fees are: $2.00 debit card and 2.25% of total charging for credit card and $1.50 for Driver's License.

- Office Hours: 8:00AM - 4:30PM / Monday - Friday (Title transfers end at 4:00 p.m.)
- Drivers License Station: 8:15AM - 3:45PM / Monday - Friday
- Driver License Exams: 8:15AM - 3:30PM / Monday - Friday. Computer tests; oral tests (by appointment) may be given if office traffic allows.
- Car Drives are available Tuesday mornings between 8:30-11:00AM. Call for appointment. A current vehicle insurance card is required as well a vehicle in good working order.
