2024 Tax Sale Information - The 2024 Delaware County Tax Sale will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday, June 17th, 2024. The Sale will be conducted at the Delaware County Courthouse and bidders shall place their bids online. Bidders need not be present at the courthouse. 2024 Tax Sale Terms and Conditions

If you wish to attend the sale in person, a limited number of computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Wireless internet access will be available for bidders using their own laptop. Please note, all bids must be placed online. Driver's License Convenience Fee - Beginning July 1, 2023, customers who do not reside in Delaware County will be assessed a $10.00 convenience fee for driver's license services unless they pay property taxes in Delaware County and provide proof of payment. Collection of the convenicne fee is pursuant to Iowa Code 321M.9.

 

General Information:

Discover, Mastercard, Visa and e-Check are accepted for Internet Transactions. When paying property taxes by parcel number please enter the entity number which appears on the top of either payment stub. A $30.00 returned check fee will be assessed on any payments returned due to insufficient funds.

Scheduled and Recurring Property Tax Payments:

We are pleased to offer one-time scheduled tax payments and recurring monthly property tax payments through this website.  Payments can be scheduled using either a credit card or e-check.  For additional information, click here, or call (563 ) 927-2845. 

Property Tax Statements:

Tax statements will be mailed to property owners in mid August. The first half tax installment is due by September 1st and penalty attaches on October 1st. The second half tax is due by March 1st and penalty attaches on April 1st.

Vehicle Renewals: 

Motor vehicle registrations may be renewed the month before, the month of, and the month after your renewal month. Documentation that may apply when you renew is heavy use tax exemption or receipt, SR22 proof of financial responsibility, proof of payment of Iowa fines, or title for vehicle if one owner is deceased. You are not eligible to renew online unless you received a renewal notice through the USPS that contains a PIN number for online renewals.

The following vehicles NOT allowed to renew online include:

• IRP (Prorate)
• Firefighter vehicles due to the annual certification.
• Personalized plates that have been expired for more than 30 days.
• Customers with outstanding debts.
