2024 Tax Sale Information - The 2024 Mitchell County Tax Sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17th, 2024. The Sale will be conducted at the Mitchell County Courthouse and bidders shall place their bids online. Bidders need not be present at the courthouse. 2024 NOTICE TO TAX SALE PURCHASERS

If you wish to attend the sale in person, a limited number of computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Wireless internet access will be availabel for bidders using their own laptop. Please note, all bids must be placed online. Live bids will not be accepted. To obtain additional information, please email the Treasurer's Office at spaulus@mitchellcoia.us, or call (641) 832-3940.

New law effective July 1, 2023
 
If you are not a Mitchell County resident:
•  A $10 Convenience Fee will be added for issuance of a DL or ID.
•  Fee must be paid with cash, check, debit/credit card as a separate transaction.
•  Fee is waived if you pay property taxes to Mitchell County.






 

Driver's License Office is open by APPOINTMENT - Please call 641-832-3940 to setup an appointment. 

Motor Vehicle / Property Tax Office is open for WALK-INS - If you need to update your registration (get tags), transfer a vehicle into your name (Bill of sale required as of 1/1/2020), pay property taxes or get a person's with disabilities placard for your vehicle....

Our office DOES NOT process vehicle transfers after 4:15 PM

Accepted On-Line Payment Methods-eCheck, Discover, MasterCard and VISA are accepted for Internet transactions - charges will apply.

Accepted In Office Payment Methods-eCheck, Discover, MasterCard, VISA, and PayPal - charges will apply.

You can now access the Assessor Property Information on each parcel from Step 3 of the property tax application.
 

Vehicle Renewals: 
Apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal at this time. ( This is an enhancement that will be available in the future!!)

Escrow Taxes:
Arrangements can be made to have payments automatically deducted from your checking or savings account.  If interested please contact your bank or loan company.

MONTHYLY PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE FOR YOUR PROPERTY TAXES... just use the SETUP A SCHEDULE OPTION
