Hello, I would like to welcome you to the Mills County Treasurer's website. Our office provides that “one-stop shopping” for your taxes, motor vehicles and drivers license. Please don't hesitate to contact our office by phone or e-mail with any questions or comments you have! We recommend you pay your property taxes and vehicle registration renewal on-line. Office Hours are Monday-Friday

All Departments are Closed daily 11:30a-12:30p for lunch (effective 10-01-2025).

Property Tax:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am- 4:00pm.

Motor Vehicle Services:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am- 4:00pm.

Driver's License:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am- 4:00pm. *See DL tab for specific times.

Property Tax Information

Pay your property taxes online quickly and securely. Search by owner name, parcel number, receipt number, or street address.

Online payment accepted are Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa Card, and Electronic Check (eCheck). A non-refundable Service Delivery Fee applies.

All returned payments are subject to a $30.00 returned payment fee.

Vehicle Registration Renewal

Renew your vehicle registration online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will need your plate number and either the PIN from your renewal notice or the audit number from your registration renewal receipt.

Online payments accepted are Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa Card, and Electronic Check (eCheck). A non-refundable Service Delivery Fee applies.

All returned payments are subject to a $30.00 returned payment fee.

Mills County Driver's License Services

Walk-in Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM, last issuance at 3:55 PM.

(Closed daily 11:30a-12:30p for lunch)

Driver License Written Testing: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM (includes Permits & CDL's)

Out of State Transfers: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM

*Cutoff time are strictly enforced, please come prepared.*

As 07/01/2023 pursuant to Iowa Code 321M.9, Customer who do not reside in or pay property taxes in Mills County will be assessed a $10.00 convenience fee for driver's license services.
