News from Treasurer  MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSACTIONS THAT ARE SUBMITTED AFTER 4:15PM WILL BE PROCESSED THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY.  REMEMBER you can always drop payments for Property Taxes and Motor Vehicle registrations off at DROP BOX located by Law Center.

Tax Sale Information: The 2025 Howard County Tax Sale will begin 9:00am on Monday June 16th, 2025.  The sale will be conducted at the Howard County Courthouse and bidders shall place their bids online.  The auction site can be accessed by going to www.iowataxauction.com.  Registration will begin Monday, May 19th, 2025 at 12:01am & end Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:59pm.

 On-Line Payment Methods-eCheck, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted for Internet transactions.

Please visit the Website to pay by E-Check or Credit Card.  You can also pay delinquent amounts on-line.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  IF PAYING BY E-CHECK YOU WILL BE ASKED TO ENTER A RECEIPT NUMBER AS YOUR PIN.  YOUR RECEIPT NUMBER IS THE LAST 5 DIGITS OF THE BOLD PRINTED NUMBER LOCATED IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF YOUR TAX RECEIPT STUB UNDER RECEIPT#.

Motor Vehicle registration renewals can be processed the month before, the month of, and the month after the expiration month.

Vehicle registration renewal notices received by vehicle owners will include instructions and personal identification numbers (PIN) necessary to process renewals through this website.   

Vehicle renewals:  You are eligible to renew online at www.iowatreasurers.org  if you receive a renewal notice through the US Postal Service that contains a PIN number from online renewals.

General Information:

Discover, Mastercard, Visa and e-Check are accepted for Internet Transactions. When paying property taxes by parcel number please enter the 10 digit parcel number which appears in the bottom right corner of either payment stub. A $30.00 returned check fee will be assessed on any payments returned due to insufficient funds.
